We are looking for a part time Kitchen Assistant for 52 hours per fortnight, shifts are between 6am-8.30pm, Monday to Sunday, with at least 2 weekends a month, where you will be rostered off.
Mō te Tūranga | About the Role
As a kitchen assistant you will be reporting to the Head Chef, the main function will be to deliver meals to our valued patients, washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. Some of the other duties and requirements are:
- Assisting the Cooks/Head Chef with meal preparation
- Assisting with the smooth running of the kitchen
- Maintaining and replenishing the visitor coffee stations and kitchenettes
- Deliver meals to our patients.
Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience
- Preferred City and Guilds or NZQA Level 3
- Preferred experience in the kitchen/ hospitality industry
- You must be physically fit because you will be on your feet for the majority of the day
- Friendly and courteous, as you will be interacting with our visitors and patients, on occasion
- Ability to work within a tight team environment, where you are relying on each other
- Quick thinking and uses their initiative
- A positive 'can-do' attitude - always ready to go the extra mile
- A professional, supportive and open communication style
- Respect for patient confidentiality
- There are often times where we need to change shifts due to sickness, so being flexible around potential roster changes, with the ability to work longer shifts is important
The ideal candidate will have a full driver’s licence.
